Warli Painting Workshop

The Warli people are one of the aboriginal / indigenous communities of western India.

They are known for their beautiful and unique style of painting which reflects the close association between human communities and nature.

The paintings on the walls of the their huts are traditionally done by the women of the tribe and are greatly influenced by the their surroundings and day to day life.

Sumbaran Foundation conducted a workshop on Warli Painting for introducing participants to the basics of Warli painting.

We took this initiative to motivate people to learn and conserve this traditional art form.
